EIT RawMaterials in partnership with Mantis B.I. has established the Raw Materials Incubator in Greece back in 2020. The Incubator supports, since then, entrepreneurial teams and companies from Greece with business ideas covering the entire raw materials value chain. The Raw Materials Incubator operates as an accelerator, preparing teams from Greece to submit in the European calls and programs and acts as a gate to the European Market for them.

We are in the happy place to have become an Associate Partner of the EIT RawMaterials network, as well as the software provider for EIT RawMaterials main offerings

GreenTech Challenge 2022

Do you have an innovative business idea in the Raw Materials Sector and want to jumpstart your business? Learn how to validate your business concept, develop your business plan and pitch your idea to future investors. In this program, you will learn how to get started on building a business in a unique cross-industry environment: how to build a team, business processes and organizational design. The primary focus is on quantitative business model building.

This program is designed to support the best ideas from researchers, professionals and early-stage startups, with a potential impact in the Raw Materials Value Chain. The program includes 3 Bootcamp Trainings that will offer an extended training provided by customized mentorship to each team and will end up to a final competition where the best idea will be rewarded and promoted to the European Call Jumpstarter. This year’s program runs along the GreenTech Challenge by ESU – NTUA Funnel, starting a strategic partnership with the National Technical University of Athens. You can look up more information here

Researchers, engineers, mineral resources engineers or geologists most likely will hold an idea in this sector. However, anyone who holds an idea in the Raw Materials Sector and is looking forward to an opportunity that will evolve it is eligible for this call.

At the end of the program, the winners will prepare their pitch deck, business model canvas, competitive landscape, go-to-market strategy, roadmap to be ready for the European call Jumpstarter and claim prizes up to 10.000€.

This funnel provides support to startups in order to develop innovative products and services that can produce an impact in the raw materials sector or benefit our partners.

From idea to market growth

1. RawMaterials Accelerator

Τhe EIT RawMaterials Accelerator Programme aims to coach and mentor start-ups contributing to job creation and accelerating new technology that will have an impact and contribute to the EIT RawMaterials network.

The programme comprises three phases – Explore, Build and Grow. Each phase has specific objectives, processes and funding schemes. The support includes individual and group coaching, funding and anchoring start-ups in their local and national ecosystems.

In 2023, there will be  two cohorts/calls to join the programme.

  • 20/03/2023 Submissions deadline for the 1st Cohort 17:00 CET

  • 22/05/2023,  Submissions deadline for the 2nd Cohort – 17:00 CET

The target group and criteria for the RawMaterials Accelerator Programme Phase 1 are as follows: 
Teams or Start-ups with an innovative idea/solution 
• The phase of the solution should be ready for acceleration, at least TRL 4 (beyond basic
research) 
• Start-ups do not need to be a legal entity to enter Phase 1
• Start-ups need to have a team of two or more entrepreneurs
• Start-ups need to be prepared to work full-time with a dedicated team 
• Start-ups need to commit to the proposed methodology and activity plan of the programme
• Start-ups that are funded for the same activity by another KIC (Knowledge and Innovation
Community) are not eligible
• The programme is open to participants who have an operative branch in one of the EU member countries or Countries Associated to Horizon Europe

Besides funding and customised services, the selected startups and SMEs will also get access to the EIT RawMaterials partner network, participating in the European networking events, as well as gain visibility through EIT RawMaterials network channels. Supported startups may join the network as an associate or full member to benefit from the ecosystem fully.

From product to market

2. Booster Call 2023

EIT RawMaterials Booster Call supports start-ups and SMEs developing innovative products and services that can impact in the raw materials sector or benefit our partners.

Besides funding and customised services, the selected start-ups and SMEs will also join the EIT RawMaterials partner network to participate in our networking events and gain visibility through EIT RawMaterials network channels. Supported start-ups and SMEs may join our network as an associate or full members to benefit from the ecosystem fully.

Apply now and gain the opportunity to receive an up to 200,000 € funding

Booster Call 2023 is open throughout the year. For the sake of clarity and to ensure a smooth selection and operational progress of the selected Start-ups and SMEs, we have three cut-off dates for proposal submission.

 

The application deadlines are 13 March, 5 June and 4 September 2023.

The “Booster Call for Start-ups and SMEs” is open to the following participants who have an operative branch in one of the EU member countries or Countries Associated to HorizonEurope:

1. Raw materials relevant start-up or spin-off companies at least registered at the time of application (registration certificate to be provided at the grant signature)
2. Raw materials innovation- and technology-related SMEs (according to European Commission’s definitions) willing to boost their business through the introduction of new and innovative products and/or services.

 

Besides funding and customised services, the selected startups and SMEs will also get access to the EIT RawMaterials partner network, participating in the European networking events, as well as gain visibility through EIT RawMaterials network channels. Supported startups may join the network as an associate or full member to benefit from the ecosystem fully.

Regional Innovation Competition

Regional Innovation Competition is back!
Scale up your startup, win €6,000 and connect with a Pan-European network of Innovators and Businesses.

The Regional Innovation Competition is an innovation program with workshops, coaching vouchers, and local support via RIS incubators. The competition will close with a final pitching competition and prize awards for the best startups.

Eligibility Criteria

If you are an SME, startup or a spin-off from Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Montenegro, Republic of North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine, Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Réunion, Martinique, Mayotte and Saint-Martin (France), the Azores and Madeira (Portugal), and the Canary Islands (Spain) this program is definitely for you!

Preferably your startup should also meet the following:

  • Incorporated up to 24 months before submitting to the Programme
  • In pre-revenue or low revenue phase
  • In pre-seed phase
  • In TRL 2-5, CRL 2-5

What is in it for you?

Selected start-ups will be connected with their local EIT RawMaterials RIS Incubator to support them, receive 4–6-hours vouchers for coaching, participate in online bootcamps and will be granted €2,500 to cover travel and accommodation costs, as well as business needs during the programme.
